What is Epithalon?
Epithalon, also spelled Epitalon or Epithalone, is a synthetic four-amino-acid peptide: Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly. Its formula is C14H22N4O9 and its molecular weight is 390.34 g/mol. It was first made in the 1990s, based on the amino acid makeup of epithalamin, an extract from the bovine pineal gland.
It’s one of the smallest peptides that gets serious study. Two of its four residues have acidic side chains, so it carries a negative charge at body pH. It dissolves easily in water.

What researchers study Epithalon for
Most Epithalon work comes from the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology and looks at aging models in cells and animals, including telomerase activity. It’s for lab research only. See NIH PubChem.
How to store Epithalon
Keep it refrigerated at 36 to 46 °F (2 to 8 °C). Keep reconstituted solution cold.
Most labs reconstitute with Research Water, which is sterile-filtered water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol.
When it’s time to reconstitute, let the vial come to room temperature first. Add the solvent slowly down the inside wall of the vial so it doesn’t hit the powder directly, then swirl gently until the liquid is clear. Don’t shake it. Write the date on the label so you know how long it’s been mixed.
