What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu is a three-amino-acid peptide, glycine-histidine-lysine, bound to a copper(II) ion. Its formula is C14H22CuN6O4 and it weighs 401.9 g/mol. Loren Pickart first found it in 1973 while studying human plasma. He noticed younger blood samples had more of this small copper-peptide complex than older ones.
The copper is held by nitrogen atoms from the glycine and histidine, and that gives the powder its blue color. GHK-Cu occurs naturally in trace amounts in plasma, saliva and urine. It’s a metallopeptide, which is unusual among research peptides.

How to store GHK-Cu
Refrigerate at 36 to 46 °F (2 to 8 °C) and keep it away from light.
Most labs reconstitute with Research Water, which is sterile-filtered water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol.
When it’s time to reconstitute, let the vial come to room temperature first. Add the solvent slowly down the inside wall of the vial so it doesn’t hit the powder directly, then swirl gently until the liquid is clear. Don’t shake it. Write the date on the label so you know how long it’s been mixed.
