Thymosin Beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid peptide coded by the TMSB4X gene. It’s the most abundant member of the beta-thymosin family, with the formula C212H350N56O78S and a weight of about 4,963 g/mol. It was isolated from calf thymus in 1981 and has been studied ever since as one of the main proteins that binds free actin inside mammalian cells.
