What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 stands for Body Protection Compound-157. It’s a synthetic pentadecapeptide, meaning a chain of 15 amino acids, with the sequence Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val. The sequence comes from part of a larger protein found in human gastric juice, which researchers first isolated and described in the early 1990s.

Two things make it unusual. It dissolves easily in water, and it stays stable across a wide pH range, which most peptides of this size don’t. BPC-157 doesn’t occur on its own in nature. Every vial is made by solid-phase peptide synthesis and freeze-dried into a white powder.

What researchers study BPC-157 for

BPC-157 is one of the most written-about research peptides. Most of the published work comes from animal models and cell culture, where labs have looked at tendon, ligament, muscle and gut tissue. None of it has led to an approved drug, and the peptide isn’t cleared for human or veterinary use. If you’re planning a study, the BPC-157 entry on NIH PubChem is a good place to start for identifiers and literature links.

How to store BPC-157

Keep unopened vials in the fridge at 36 to 46 °F (2 to 8 °C), away from light. For long stretches, a freezer is better. Once you’ve reconstituted it, keep it cold and use it within a few weeks.

Most labs reconstitute with Research Water, which is sterile-filtered water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol.

When it’s time to reconstitute, let the vial come to room temperature first. Add the solvent slowly down the inside wall of the vial so it doesn’t hit the powder directly, then swirl gently until the liquid is clear. Don’t shake it. Write the date on the label so you know how long it’s been mixed.

BPC-157 5mg price and pack sizes

This is a single 5mg vial of BPC-157 for $40. If your lab goes through BPC-157 quickly, the multi-packs bring the cost per vial down.

BPC-157 also comes in another size: BPC-157 10mg.

BPC-157 FAQ

What is BPC-157 made from?

It’s fully synthetic. The 15-residue sequence copies part of a protein found in gastric juice, but every vial is built by solid-phase synthesis. Nothing is extracted from tissue.

Does BPC-157 dissolve in water?

Yes. It dissolves readily in water, and it’s more pH-stable than most peptides its size.

Is BPC-157 5mg for human use?

No. It’s sold for laboratory research only. It isn’t approved for human or veterinary use, and we don’t give dosing advice.
